I have become much less tolerant of crowded exhibitions. I think this is partly age, partly COVID hangover. But so much of the "crowd" part seems due to poor crowd & space management by the museums. The Rothko show at LVF was a miserable way for anyone seeing his work for the first time.

I've heard other people say that about the Rothko show actually! Sounds like it was v packed indeed! Would premium priced entry slots with guaranteed fewer people something you think could work?

I would go for a mix of premium with higher cost + more/ different hours at regular prices. And I wish curators & admin teams would think more about how to scale if a show really takes off. I saw the Lucien Freud show at National Gallery & it was just as important but a much better experience.
